Greene Co Public Health Director Becky Wolf at a November Supervisors meeting
Earlier in November, two local Greene County entities took steps to require mask use as a mitigation effort to prevent further community spread of COVID-19.
The Greene County Board of Supervisors recently enacted a mask mandate resolution on November 12th that outlined situations for when individuals are required to wear a mask and when they don’t need to. The Greene County School Board followed suit by requiring everyone to wear a mask when inside any school district facility on November 18th, with the exception of a staff member being alone in a classroom, they don’t have to wear a mask.
Greene County Public Health Director Becky Wolf applauds the effort made by both of those entities. She talks about the other important preventative measures that people need to take, other than wearing a mask.
“It’s also about the social distancing, it’s also about staying home when you’re sick, it’s also about washing your hands frequently, and staying educated. So it’s about all of that and doing the right thing.”
Wolf reminds everyone that it takes 2-14 days of someone being exposed to an individual who tested positive before they start to show the symptoms of the virus. She urges everyone to heighten their awareness and push through the holiday season with doing preventative measures.
