As the year comes to a close and infection rates for COVID-19 fluctuate, the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office is still doing its part to keep a handle on the situation, even at the point of first contact on a call.

Sheriff Marty Arganbright describes how they go about answering calls for service.“I think dispatch is always good about asking if you have any symptoms of COVID. We keep track to let EMS employees know where they’re going. The dispatchers are good about letting EMS personnel know if there’s COVID or not COVID.”

As the department recovers from the impact of the virus, Arganbright is emphatic about continuing to follow state recommendations to limit the spread.

“Everyone’s back now, so the past month we’ve been involved with it. We’re trying to be careful again and wear our masks, clean the areas that someone is and another person comes in. We’re taking extra steps.”

Arganbright encourages everyone to do their part to help stop the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a mask in public areas and continuing to clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
