The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors reviewed insurance rates and coverage amounts Tuesday and made one amendment to their expenses.
The Board approved to increase their deductible on equipment insurance to $1,500, saving the county $1,407 for the year. The original deductible was $500. No changes were made to the collision or comprehensive coverage on county vehicles.
The Board also considered the Emergency Management Agency’s budget for the 2021 calendar year. The Supervisors then approved an agreement with the state of Iowa concerning digital security and programs that are currently funded by federal grants as an extra layer of protection for the county’s computer systems.
The meeting ended with a discussion about two new K-9 units the county sheriff’s office that will be purchased after the retirement of Rage earlier this month.
