Greene County residents looking for ways to give back this holiday season can do so with a well known organization that spotlights Christmas time.
Salvation Army bell ringers are needed for the final few days of the fundraiser. Bell ringers will stand outside of the Jefferson Fareway and Hy-Vee grocery stores with the distinctive red kettles and the recognizable sound of ringing bells. The event began on November 27th, and have si far raised $1,977. Volunteers are still needed for the final days of December 18th and 19th. Volunteers are encouraged to observe social distancing, don’t need to handle money and will be outside.
Proceeds from this fundraiser goes back to the organization to help with families and individuals that are in need. Interested individuals can contact the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson.
