
Friday, December 11th
8:14am: Heath Telleen reported a friendly Stray Dog at 1901 North Grimmell Road. The officer placed the dog in the Animal Holding Facility.
9:06am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 700 Block of West State Street for, “48 Hour Parking Violation.”
9:40am: Dan Myers reported his vehicle was damaged in a Hit & Run Accident while in Jefferson on December 9th, 2020. He reported he had been at the Casino and Sparky’s while in town. Officers viewed video footage from Sparky’s and the Casino and learned the vehicle was damaged prior to arriving at both locations.
2:40pm: Vickie Williams requested officers at 905 West Lincoln Way for her adult son acting strangely. The officers coaxed the male to ER to be evaluated by a Medical Doctor.
5:17pm: Officers assisted a motorist in the 300 Block of East Monroe Street, who had an infant locked in their vehicle. The officers unlocked the vehicle for the parents.
8:17pm: Officers assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 200 Block of South Oak Street.
9:56pm: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 704 North Elm Street. The officer found the building to be secure.
Saturday, December 12th
12:18pm: ER requested officers at 1000 West Lincoln Way for an unruly patient. The officers assisted ER Staff with the patient.
1:45pm: Officers performed a Funeral Escort.
2:45pm: Officers secured several Open Doors at 1006 North Walnut Street.
9:01pm: Lila Martin reported a large fire on the north side of the RR Tracks on Grimmell Road. The officer located the fire and learned it was being supervised and all was fine.
Sunday, December 13th
1:29pm: Nate Byerly reported a vehicle failing to stop at the posted stop sign at 220th and Elm Streets. The officer did not locate the vehicle on the roadway in the area.
Monday, December 14th
4:35am: Carroll County requested a Jefferson officer to deliver a Family Emergency Notification to a Jefferson resident. The officer delivered the message.
8:35am: Adam Choruzek called and advised his vehicle died and will not start at Lincoln Way and Cedar Streets. The officer assisted in pushing the vehicle off the roadway. The vehicle was removed from the area a short time later.
9:29am: Tony Sparks spoke with an officer about Civil Issues occurring at 307 North Locust Street. He was advised to contact an attorney.
1:55pm: An officer was advised of young children playing outside that were underdressed for the weather conditions in the 600 Block of West South Street. The officer located the children and contacted a parent to advise of the issue.
4:19pm: Tony Sparks reported his child had locked him out of his residence at 307 North Locust Street and would not let him back in. He requested a call back from an officer. DHS was contacted by the officer to intervene in the on-going issues.
7:49pm: A caller advised of seeing flashlights in the upstairs of the abandoned apartment building at 307 North Wilson Ave. The officers checked the building and did not locate anyone present inside. The property owner was contacted by the officer, as all doors to the building are unsecured.
10:45pm: A Traffic Stop at Central and Grimmell resulted in Emilee Ward of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
******* An Arrest Warrant has been requested by an officer after completing an Assault Investigation that began on 12/01/2020, at 606 Hwy. 30 East. The warrant was requested for Shirley Ann Henry, 51 of Jefferson for, “Assault – Simple.”
******** Officers issued (33) Parking-Snow Ordinance Citations during this reporting period.
