
The Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area did see some snowfall this past week, but not enough to alleviate drought conditions.
According to the National Weather Service, Perry saw the most new snow, accumulating 5.8 inches and 0.72-inches of precipitation. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, Dallas County as a whole still stays in moderate drought status.
Guthrie Center picked up five-inches of snow, amounting to 0.61-inch es of precipitation. Drought Monitor shows the eastern third of Guthrie County is abnormally dry, while the remainder suffers from moderate drought.
The City of Jefferson had the least amount of snow, with only 3.3 inches recorded this past week for 0.52-inches of precipitation. Drought Monitor shows Greene County is in moderate drought status except the southeastern corner, which stays abnormally dry.
