Students with the Panorama School District are now on Christmas break.
For many students it’s an exciting time to get some rest and relaxation after a long school term. But, Superintendent Shawn Holloway says there’s an overlooked side to the holiday season.
“The thing that is always a challenge over Christmas break especially for a large number of our kids across Iowa is the safest place they have is school. School feeds them two meals a day. Some of our kids are really excited about Christmas break, but for other students, it actually causes some anxiety and fear because their routine is broken up. It’s a double-edged sword. We see both sides of that, which is heartbreaking.”
School will be back in session January 4.
