The Greene County wrestlers resume practice today after time off for Christmas. Coach Zach Beekman’s team has a 5-4 record and will take a winning streak of four matches in a row into their first scheduled action of 2021, a quadrangular in Greenfield vs. Nodaway Valley, Martensdale-St. Mary’s, and Woodward-Granger on Jan. 5.

Two Rams are 9-0 at the break for the holidays. Mc Kinley Robbins (pictured) at 120 lbs. and Nate Black at 152 lbs. Brady Stauffer is 8-1 at 138 lbs. and several others have winning records.

Robbins was the Class 2A State Tournament runner-up in 2020 at 106 lbs. and his career record is 46-2. He’s on track to get to 50 career victories faster than anyone in program history, which stretches back 55 seasons. Robbins could reach that milestone on Jan. 5. So far in his nine matches this season, he has six falls, one technical fall, and has collected two forfeits.
