As Christmas has passed there is still one holiday left this year to celebrate and it’s important to remember alcohol safety. 

While you celebrate the New Years’ holiday Perry Police Chief Eric Vaughn says it is important to remember to have a designated driver if you plan on going out drinking. 

“During the holidays sometimes people drink a little bit more than the usual (amount and) sometimes you know people that don’t normally drink are drinking so make sure you are aware of that. Make sure before you go out, maybe if you are going out with friends, make sure you guys pick a designated driver to get you back home.”

Vaughn suggests calling someone to come get you rather than trying to drive if you have consumed alcohol.
