New Dallas County Emergency Management Coordinator A.J. Seely
When the snow starts falling many people see an opportunity for having fun outdoors but it’s important to remember safety when the temperatures are cold.
Dallas County Emergency Management (EMA) Coordinator A.J. Seely says one important thing to remember when outdoors in frigid temperatures is wearing appropriate clothing as well as being aware of how cold it is.
“Make sure we are bundled up. Also, (we) want to make sure that we are telling people where we are at so that if something does happen they know that we are in this location and they know that we planned on being back by now or we didn’t plan on being back by now. So they have some expectation of when to have concern.”
Also, Seely says the temperature is important to understand for knowing how quickly you could suffer from frostbite from being outside in cold temperatures. Seely notes for people to follow the Dallas County EMA page on Facebook for more information.
