Greene County ended the high school wrestling regular season on Saturday by sending a partial squad to the ACGC Charger Invitational in Guthrie Center. None of the Rams placed higher than fourth on Saturday and several of the highly regarded Rams sat this one out.

Coach Zach Beekman’s team begins preparations for the Class 2A Sectional in Woodward on Saturday hosted by Woodward-Granger at 12 p.m. In addition to the Rams and Hawks, teams involved are ADM, Perry, Gilbert, and Van Meter/Earlham.

Coach Beekman said the focus is on the postseason. “To have these guys get a chance to be District qualifiers, State qualifiers, and State place winners, that’s what you want when you put in this kind of work.”

The Rams only had two home meets scheduled this season. COVID-19 concerns and the weather reduced that to just one- the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference tournament. The seniors did not have the traditional Senior Night recognition had they hosted a night of dual meets as scheduled.
