A Rolling Valley Activities Conference girl/boy basketball makeup doubleheader last night in Glidden saw the Paton-Churdan girls and Glidden-Ralston boys come up with victories. P-C won 70-36 in the girls’ game and G-R took the boys’ contest, 86-41.

Coach Tom Kennedy’s Rockets are ranked number 15 in 1A and they improved to 11-2 in the conference and 13-4 overall. G-R fell to 8-7, 6-6. Danielle Hoyle put up a season best 34 points for P-C with 15 field goals and a four for four effort at the free throw line. Hannah Behrens added 11 points with eight from Chloe Berns. The Rockets led 35-15 at halftime. G-R was led by 16 points from Gretchen Wallace.

G-R won for the third time this season and the second in the RVAC as they easily handed the Rockets their eighth straight loss. P-C fell to 3-14 and 1-12. The Rockets won vs. G-R early in the season by 25 points, but this was all Wildcats as the home team led 45-21 at  halftime and 70-29 at the end of the third quarter. Joe Carey scored 10 points and had seven rebounds for P-C. Connor Brus added eight points and three assists.

The Paton-Churdan teams have a girl/boy makeup doubleheader on Friday vs. West Harrison in Mondamin.
