The City of Rippey is gearing up for the true meaning of an annual tradition tomorrow.

The Bike Ride to Rippey (BRR) usually runs into winter weather, having the event hosted in the middle of February. However, temperatures are expected to be in the single digits, but there are still plenty of food and beverage options happening in Rippey for those brave bike riders.

Mayor Dan Brubaker tells Raccoon Valley Radio the Thirsty Pig will have its beer tent up on Main Street and the Friends of Rippey are helping to sponsor the beverage tent. The Rippey Lions Club will serve sack lunches of roast beef sandwiches with chips, a dessert and bottled water for $10. They will be serving in front of the Rippey Library and Community Building and those will be made a carry-outs only.

Phyllis Bardole with the Rippey United Methodist Church says they will serve ham sandwiches with chips, a dessert and bottled water for $10, with additional bottled water for $1. Additionally, they will serve free coffee and it will be made as carry-out only from the church’s drive-through area.
