With the 44th Annual Bike Ride to Rippey (BRR) taking place today, it will bring more than just riders into Perry.

As the largest fundraiser of the year for the Perry Chamber of Commerce, Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says the staple event for Perry brings with it an economic impact for the City.

“For every person that’s coming in they may or may not be bringing someone else. Some other support vehicle someone that’s staying behind. Another friend along for the ride. So every person that is coming in you know that they are spending money in town.”

Pasutti says it not only positively impacts Perry but the surrounding communities as well even if it is something as small as spending five dollars at the gas station. Pasutti notes that while some may be weary of the extra bike and foot traffic, that it’s good for Perry.

“It’s a one day thing. Be aware of the additional traffic of individual people and bikers but also think about it as a positive pride moment for all these folks coming to Perry and interacting with our community in so many ways.”

BRR is scheduled to kick off at 10 a.m. from the Hotel Pattee.
