The Adel Public Library moved into phase three of its reopening plan which allows expanded services for patrons.
Adel Library Director Trever Jayne says now patrons can come into the library and browse for books themselves instead of having library staff get books for patrons from the service desk with the rest of the building being closed. Patrons will still be required to wear a mask.
Jayne says the hopes are for the library to look at moving into phase four sometime this spring but notes there are no finalized plans at this time. He shares how nice it is to have the library offering expanded services during the pandemic.
“I think like everybody else we all want things to get back to some level of normalcy and we are excited that we can do it safely and in a way that keeps the patrons safe and the staff safe but also opens the building back up.”
The Adel Public Library began phase three on Monday.
