Class 1A girls’ basketball teams begin the postseason around the state tonight. Paton-Churdan will be at home in Churdan for a 7 p.m. first round contest vs. Rolling Valley Activities Conference rival Ar-We-Va (Westside) on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage begins around 6:40 p.m.
Coach Tom Kennedy’s Rockets are 14-5 overall and went 12-3 in the conference. AWV is 4-15 and they finished 3-11 league play including losses by 17 and 28 points to P-C. Senior Danielle Hoyle, the 6′ 3″ posts is among Iowa’s leading scorers at 22.7 points per game. She is one of five seniors that have played a lot of basketball together and hope to make a deep postseason run.
