The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors approved to continue its funding toward the Guthrie County Fair Board.

The Supervisors approved $30,000 for the Fair Board and $8,000 toward the 4-H program. Additionally, Ron Benton and the Fair Board discussed different infrastructure improvements to the electrical and water systems, and fencing upgrades that will take place over the next two or three years.

County Engineer Josh Sebern and Auditor Dani Fink discussed the sharing of an employee between the  Auditor’s office and Secondary Roads Department in order to continue the employee’s full-time status. Fink reviewed the hours needed for the employee and didn’t want to have to reduce the employee to part-time after hiring her as a full-time employee in July. Sebern says the timing is good to have someone learn the system to be able to give his current office employee extra time off on a regular basis.

The Supervisors interviewed one candidate for the open Human Resources Coordinator position in a closed session. The other interview candidate on the agenda withdrew their application.

Finally, The Board approved an engagement and disclosure letter to allow Northland Securities to disclose financing options to the county for a new courthouse roof and maintenance shed. Next, the Supervisors set a public hearing for March 4 at 10 a.m. for the maximum property tax rate levy. They declined to take action on the courthouse mask mandate, leaving it in effect.
