
The drought plaguing the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area stayed steady this past week.
According to the United States Drought Monitor, the southeast corner of Greene County is abnormally dry, while the rest of the county is in a moderate drought. The northwest portion of Dallas County is abnormally dry, while the remainder of the county is under no no drought. Guthrie County remains in a moderate drought on the western half, while the eastern half is abnormally dry.
The National Weather Service reports that Jefferson received 3.9 inches of new snow over the past week, amounting to 0.11 inches of precipitation. Guthrie Center accumulated 3.2 inches of new snow for 0.18 inches of precipitation. Perry caught 3.2 inches of new snow for 0.15 inches of precipitation.
