The opening round of Class 3A State Tournament Wrestling in Des Moines at Wells Fargo Arena saw the Waukee Warriors lead the team race by four points 32.5-28.5 over Waverly-Shell Rock. Southeast Polk is third with 26.5.
Waukee has 10 of their qualifiers still alive after the first day with nine on the championship side of the bracket.

Dallas Center-Grimes has three qualifiers with two making it to day two, one in the quarterfinals and one in the second consolation round.
