Recently, Dallas County ISU Extension and Outreach asked community members to fill out a questionnaire to gauge interest in the possibility of having a community garden.
From 6:30 to 8 p.m. on March 1st Dallas County Extension will host a virtual meeting to discuss plans moving forward for the possible garden with Perry and surrounding communities.
The community garden was proposed as a response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as a way to combat food insecurity as well as give people an opportunity to be outside, connect and help with mental health.
Also, there would be additional educational opportunities for programs with Master Gardeners, Human Sciences, nutrition and youth.
Everyone is encouraged to attend the meeting and the link to register can be found here.
