
The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday night in regular session.
Following a public hearing, the Council approved a resolution expressing intent to issue up to $400,000 in general obligation bonds for the Greene County Animal Shelter project. The Council also approved a $43,200 professional services agreement with Bolton and Menk for a preliminary engineering report for the water treatment plant, hiring Nick Johnson as a patrol officer with an annual salary of $47,321, employing Micah Destival as the golf course manager for his ten month contract to start on March 1st with a budgeted salary of $34,400. Additionally, the Council approved the mayoral appointments for city clerk and treasurer, city attorney and engineer, and the parks and rec board members as presented, and the quarterly funding request from Greene County Development Corporation.
Finally, the Council heard a quarterly report from Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community. It was reported there are 13 visits scheduled for the ambassadors this year, along with applying for the 17th bronze historical plaque to be placed on the downtown square and the next installment of the rooftop art will be on the roof of Greater Life Chiropractic.
