Dallas Center – Grimes boys basketball was 32 minutes from state on Monday night and played great basketball all night in a 60-39 victory over the Trojans of Atlantic. For the Mustangs, it is the first time to make it to the state tournament for the first time since 2017, putting together some massive performances along the way, relying on offense in the first half and defense in the second half.

Bo Huston was on fire all night long, putting up a game high 26 points which included six threes, as DCG put up 43 first half points and had a 16 point halftime lead. Huston was able to tally six threes on the night, as DCG was able to shoot the cover off of the basketball in the first half.

The Mustangs were great in the final eight minutes defensively, giving up only two points in the final frame to pull away to create a big moment for the players, who know are one of the final eight teams left in the state.

DCG will find out their pairing in the near future, but they are officially back in the state tournament as they look to do some damage in Des Moines next week.
