Jefferson businesses are having their spring open houses this weekend, and there’s a special promotion to help spark everyone to shop local.

Retail Revamped with Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community is hosting “Hide and Go Peep” promotion. Organizer Karla Holman encourages everyone to stop into the participating businesses and find the “peep” that is hidden in each store, and then be entered into a drawing for up to $50 in Greene County Chamber Checks. Bonnie Silbaugh with Retail Revamped says this kind of promotion helps to support local businesses.

“It’s just a fun way to start looking for things in your store. Now do we really care if you find the peep or not? No, nobody is not going to let you enter. But man is it fun to have something to search for, you look for new products, and it’s just kind of a fun little contest, especially if there’s families with kids. It gives the kids something to do while the parents are shopping.”

A live drawing for the chamber checks will be on Monday via Facebook Live event with Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community. The promotion ends today. The participating businesses include Junkyard Cafe, Kriegers Flowers, Royal Jewelers, Sensibly Chic, Addie’s, Fudges Flowers, and The Printer’s Box.
