A public hearing regarding proposed changes by the Environmental Protection Commission focusing on water quality to Chapter 61 will be held later this month. 

The proposed changes involved simplifying the process which the Iowa Department of Natural Resources certifies that each United States Army Corps of Engineers nationwide or regional Federal Water Pollution Control Act Section 404 permit meets Iowa’s water quality standards. 

The public hearing will be held via conference call at 3 p.m. March 30th. Those who would like to attend should contact Katie Greenstein with the DNR via email at Katie.greenstein@dnr.iowa.gov. Those who would like to comment at the meeting must submit a request.
