With little precipitation this past week means drought conditions continue across the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.

According to the National Weather Service, Perry saw 0.23 inches of rainfall this past week, while Jefferson and Guthrie Center each had 0.10 inches of rain. The latest U.S. Drought Monitor report shows Greene County has the hardest hit with drought conditions in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area. The majority of the county is suffering a moderate drought, with the southeastern corner abnormally dry. The western half of Guthrie County is in a moderate drought, with the eastern half abnormally dry. Finally, the western half of Dallas County is abnormally dry with the eastern half no longer in a drought.

The National Weather Service is anticipating a strong chance for more precipitation Sunday into Monday.
