The Perry School Board held a special meeting Friday to accept a bid and award a contract for the Perry Middle School renovation project.
The renovation project, which with the current bid hopes to be completed by October, includes various overhauls to the building including removal of asbestos, updating classrooms, moving the office area, among other things. Perry Superintendent Clark Wicks said contractors are hoping to begin work in May.
Wicks mentioned that in April the middle school will be transitioning into the high school so the contractors can begin their work earlier to meet the completion date.
