The Stuart City Council held a discussion at their most recent meeting about an upcoming project.
City Engineer Forrest Aldrich provided an update on the White Pole Road improvement project. He said the current proposal is to upgrade the road from All Saints Center to Adair Street. Financial Advisor from Northland Securities Chip Schultz outlined how the funding would potentially work, following the approval from the Guthrie County Supervisors allowing the city to use their bonding capacity.
“The framework is the county would issue, loan the proceeds to the city, and then the (county’s) debt service would be paid for by the city.”
Aldrich also presented two other options to be included. One was improvements to the agriculture business park west of Adair Street. He said there was interest from landowners to expand that location. The other option was installing truck traffic restrictions.
The Council decided to further review each of the options before making a final decision.
