The annual Ring Out for Art contest and Tower View Team in Jefferson has announced its finalists.
Tower View Team Chair Deb McGinn shares the details of the sculpture submissions that their committee had to narrow down to the four finalists.
“We had around 27 (submissions) to choose from, which was a record amount. And so we have juried the entries and have decided on the four new sculptures for the 2021 exhibition. That’ll the sixth year for Ring Out for Art. We have two artists from Iowa, and one from Missouri, and an artist and his partner that live in Detroit, Michigan.”
McGinn says the sculptures will begin to arrive in early May and will remain on the Greene County Courthouse grounds until November 1st. Voting will start during the Bell Tower Festival from June 11th and 12th through mid-August. The winning sculpture then stays on display through next May. McGinn adds, each finalist receives a $1,000 stipend for their artwork, which is sponsored by Home State Bank and then the winner will receive an additional $500 from Tower View Team. McGinn also thanks the Greene County Supervisors for their continued support of the Ring Out for Art contest.
