Dallas Center – Grimes girls golf competed in their first tournament of the season over the weekend at the Norwalk Invitational, putting up some good numbers overall.
Some of the scores attached are from a nine hole round, where DCG was able to post a team score of 179, one of the best marks of the entire day from any of the teams. Some of the leading scorers for the Mustangs included Kaylin Petrak, who was a medalist for the round after posting a great 39. The runner up and 3rd place with both DCG golfers shooting a 45 was Laura Klaessy and Emerson Kleis. Finishing in sixth with a score of 50 is Chloe Traver to round out the scoring for the Mustangs.
Kaylee Huinker was able to shoot a 52 and Morgan Stork was able to shoot a 57 to round out the scoring for the Mustangs.
The result is an excellent beginning for DCG to begin the golf season, and will have another tournament coming up next week at Pleasantville Golf and Country Club.
