Due to a donation from a charitable company, soon Guthrie County’s very own four-legged officer will receive some added protection. 

The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Dart will be receiving a bullet and stab protective vest, which costs roughly $1,744 to $2,283, that was donated by Vested Interest In K-9s and the sheriff’s office is expected to receive the vest in eight to ten weeks. 

This program is open to all U.S. dogs that are at least 20 months old and actively employed and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K-9s who have expired vests are also eligible to participate.
