With the recent announcement of increased production in vaccines, health officials say it could make it easier for people to receive a vaccination.

Dallas County Health Department Public Information Officer Ann Cochran says Dallas County recently received more vaccines during the week of March 29th with 900 doses of Moderna vaccine and 2,340 of Pfizer vaccine but Cochran says looking ahead it might not stay that way.

“It’s very good news that we are receiving more now there is no guarantee on how many doses we will continue to receive but Governor Reynolds has been very firm with the federal government about the number of persons in Iowa who are wanting to be vaccinated and are not at this point simply because there is a lack of product.”

With this Cochran says the hopes are that they will continue to receive increased numbers of vaccine doses to continue to vaccinate people and make it easier for those who wish to receive a vaccine to get one.

As of yesterday all people in Iowa who are over the age of 16 are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.
