Paton-Churdan senior Danielle Hoyle is an All-State basketball player, a standout in volleyball, and she has now added track & field to resume’. The 6′ 3″ thrower is competing for the Rockets in the shot put and discus for the first time since she was in junior high, and in consecutive nights last week, she broke the school record in the shot put, then shattered her own mark one day later.
Coach Pat Kruse told Raccoon Valley Radio the P-C girls’ shot put record of 35 feet stood since 1968, then Hoyle threw 36′ 5″ at the ACGC meet in Guthrie Center on April 15. On April 16, her best was 38′ 8″, which currently stands as the fourth best throw in Class 1A, according to the statistics website varsitybound.com.
The Rockets will be in action tomorrow near Stuart at West Central Valley High School for a coed meet.
