Dallas Center – Grimes Mustangs Track and field will have athletes and relay teams competing this morning and afternoon in Des Moines, as they will be looking for good performances.

On the girls side, Cambrie Smith will get things going with the 3,000 meter run this morning, with Kileigh Lachacz to compete in the discus throw after posting multiple wins in meets this season. The girls 4×800 meet will be in effect with Miranda Muhlstein, Grace Mikota, Hannah Little, and Megan Sterbenz hoping to put on a good showing for the Mustangs. In the girls 400 meter hurdles, freshmen Vanessa Bickford will be looking to put together a great showing.

On the boys side, in the 3,200 meter boys run Aiden Ramsey will be looking to put up a good time in the morning, and then in the afternoon Ramsey will be running in the 1,600 meter run. In the boys shot put, Carter Boley will be looking to up a nice mark, after numerous good performances this year. The 4×100 relay team of Caden Grimes, Tonny Torwo, Josh Hendricks, and Zach Brand will be competing, and in the 1,600 Medley Relay Grimes, Brand, Jacob Hauschen, and Ramsey will compete. Gavin Todd, Brand, Hauschen, and Grimes will be competing in the 4 x 200 meter relay.
