A reminder that tonight is a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new school facility in Guthrie Center.

The construction of the new weight room that is attached to the Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School is now completed. Activities Director Cody Matthewson describes what is inside the two-story, 8,000 square foot building, starting with the upper story.

“Completely furnished with our weightlifting equipment, our squat racks, dumbbells, benches, lat machines, more free weights. And then our lower level, downstairs, our cardio equipment is down there. We are going to be then outfitting the lower level with more exercise equipment (with) cable machines, and turning that into a little weight room as well. So almost two levels of a full weight room facility, which the students and public will have access to.”

The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place tonight at 7pm, which will be followed by public tours of the new facility. The event is free and open to the public.
