The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School concert band is finishing up the year with a contest today.
The concert band is competing at Woodward-Granger Middle School for the Iowa High School Music Association Large Group contest. Band Director Kyra Babcock says the contest can be done either in person or virtually, and they have decided to compete in person. The students will perform in front of three judges, who will then give the band a rating. Babcock says it’s been since 2004 that the band earned a Division I-rating, the highest possible rating for a superior performance.
The public is invited to watch the performances but masks will be required.
