As the first date for the Perry Farmer’s Market approaches, there will be plenty of events for people to take part in throughout the season.

Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says three years ago an idea arose to do a monthly activity to try and bring more people down to the farmer’s market. While this year the activities themselves are tentative, Pasutti says there will be plenty going on.

“These are tentative so far, but the third Thursday is pretty solid. We have health and wellness night in June, public safety night in July, back to school night in August and then public works night in September is what we are shooting for as far as those themed events.”

Pasutti expects these theme nights to drive more community involvement.

“It’s always fun for kids to see how big a fire truck really is standing next to it instead of driving by, and then same with back to school night having the mascot actually come down and get your booster club gear and things like that. So, it’s been a really fun and successful activity to bring to the market in the past.”

The farmer’s market is set to run from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday’s starting June 3rd.
