Paton-Churdan’s Danielle Hoyle won both throwing events on Thursday for girls at the Class 1A Track & Field Coed State Qualifying Meet in Madrid. She is the only P-C athlete to qualify and the first female thrower from the school in some years to make it to State in those events.

Hoyle could be a strong contender in both events May 20 and 21 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines after winning the discus throw at 133′ 7″ and the shot put at 40′ 3″ on Thursday. Coach Pat Kruse said both distances were school and stadium records.
