A reminder that there will be plenty of baseball in the City of Rippey this weekend.

The newly renovated baseball field in Rippey is playing host to several semi-professional baseball teams, including the South Dakota Jackalopes in Sioux Falls, South Dakota; the Crystal Cubs from Crystal, Minnesota; and the St. Michael Angels from St. Michael, Minnesota; along with the rebirth of the Rippey Demons. Games will be played today and tomorrow morning.

Rippey Baseball Commissioner Mel Merken and Merle Jackson did most of the renovations to the field and David Hick, an East Greene High School graduate, was instrumental in bringing the Rippey Baseball Ruckus tournament. Additionally, the Friends of Rippey will be selling pulled pork sandwiches and other concession items, with all profits to be used for further improvements to the field.
