
Recent precipitation has alleviated some drought conditions in parts of the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area.
According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor all of Greene and Guthrie counties are considered abnormally dry. Most of Dallas County is considered abnormally dry while the northeastern corner is in a moderate drought. The southern half of Adair County is no longer experiencing drought conditions while the northern half is abnormally dry.
For the week Guthrie Center received 0.73 inches of rain and Jefferson also received 0.73 inches. There is also a more than 30-percent chance for precipitation moving into the next week according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
