
Greene County High School boys’ golf coach Heath Telleen said the Rams played one of their better rounds of the year on Friday in Atlantic, but it wasn’t enough and the season has come to an end. Greene County played in a Class 3A Sectional at the Atlantic Golf & Country Club and placed fourth among eight teams, one of the better Sectional Tournament placings in recent years.
The Rams were led by freshman Jack Hansen with nine hole rounds of 41-41 for 82. Junior Joe Carey shot 44-42=86, senior Sawyer Schiltz 41-47=88, and freshman Nathan Behne was at 47-45=92 to round out the scoring. Also, juniors Caden Telleen and Kole Teeples each shot 98.
ADM had 316 strokes for 18 holes and Carroll was second at 322. Those teams advance to a May 20 District Tournament Atlantic was third at 325 with Greene County fourth at 348, followed by Harlan 360, Glenwood 368, Denison-Schleswig 371, and Perry 422.
