
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued Tuesday night in the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area.
Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team was activated when the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning at 7:09pm for southeastern Greene County, northeastern Guthrie County and northwestern Dallas County. The initial indication was radar indicated of hail up to a quarter size in diameter.
Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Coordinator Bob Kempf confirmed pea to dime sized hail south of Bayard and Bagley areas. He also reported heavy rainfall south of Iowa Highway 141 to 160th Street. Kempf reported no immediate property damage from the hail. As the storm moved east toward Dallas County, Emergency Management Coordinator A.J. Seely reported no immediate property damage. The warning expired at 7:45pm.
