
The Perry softball team dropped their season opener to 2019 4A state champion and 2020 4A state runner up Carlisle 7-2 in the opening night of the softball season. The Wildcats jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings before Perry found some traction. The Jayettes scored single tallies in both the 4th and 6th innings in an attempt to battle back. Carlisle outhit Perry 10-4. The Jayettes picked up hits from Lydia Olejniczak, Jayna Kenney, Kennedy Tunick and Jasmine Shriver. Tunick provided a RBI double to score Kenney while Macy Kilmer’s fielder’s choice plated Olejniczak. Kenney pitched seven innings, allowing six earned runs and 10 hits. She struck out two. Perry falls to 0-1 and will travel to Boone Wednesday night.
