The Jefferson Fire Department is holding a raffle fundraiser in lieu of their annual event.

Fire Chief Jack Williams says instead of hosting a firemen’s ball, they are having a raffle drawing for a new three-burner grill during their breakfast fundraiser on Saturday, June 12th of the Bell Tower Festival weekend. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio the grill is from Harrison RV and it is an $800 value. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased from any of the volunteer firefighters. Williams talks about how they have used proceeds from the raffle in the past.

“All the proceeds goes towards buying new equipment for the fire department. In the past we’ve bought the newer Jaws (of Life) that will work on the newer style cars, air bags to lift cars, cold water rescue gear. All the money goes towards new equipment for the firemen.”

The raffle drawing will take place at 9am on June 12th at the Jefferson Fire Station.
