Unemployment continues to drop in the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area.

According to Iowa Workforce Development, Guthrie County saw a 0.6-percent decrease in unemployment from March to April, from 4.4-percent to 3.8-percent.  Dallas County had a 0.5-percent decline in unemployment from March to April to 2.5-percent. Greene County dropped 0.1-percnt in unemployment from March to April to 3.2-percent. 

All three counties are now the same or lower than the state’s unemployment rate. In April, Iowa’s unemployment was 3.8-percent, which was a 0.1-percent increase from March. The national unemployment rate in April was 6.1-percent.
