For Guthrie County 4-H’ers who like radio controlled cars, a club is returning this week.
Guthrie County 4-H Leader Natalie Derry says last year the new RC Club was started, but suddenly ended because of the coronavirus pandemic. Derry says this year though with the pandemic slowing down the organization is making a return. She talks about what the group of kids do.
“It’s meant to be just a little get together of the kids that are in 4-H that have RC cars that just want to get together and kind of run them.”
Derry tells Raccoon Valley Radio that while the club didn’t take place last year due to the pandemic, she knows the kids are excited to get back to it this year.
“It feels great. I know the kids are really excited and have asked me continuously when we can get together again so I know they are super excited and it feels good for me too just to have 4-H as a whole going again.”
The first offering of the Guthrie County 4-H RC Car Club will be tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. at the Guthrie County Fairground Bingo Stand. For more information you can contact Derry at 641-757-1224. To join you need to be a 4-H member, and have your own RC car to bring with you.
