Midland Power Cooperative is continuing to move its administrative staff from its Jefferson location to its new Boone facility.

The company first announced its new Boone location in October of 2018, to not only provide services to customers in Boone, but to also house its administrative staff and work with management company Innovise. Midland Power CEO Bill McKimm tells Raccoon Valley Radio, they will keep an office location in Jefferson.

“We’re really excited for that facility, it’s coming along great. It’s one of our older buildings and I really enjoy restoring those older buildings and bringing some character to them. The team that is going to be here is really excited about that. We want to maintain service levels and people like to stop in the office and visit, and ask a question, that service will be available here in Jefferson, so that shouldn’t change. We’ll still have our line crews here in Jefferson. So (I’m) really excited about both things coming together and hopefully a great gameplan that all works out seamlessly.”

With the new building in Boone now operational and administrative staff moving to it, the Greene County Board of Supervisors have entered into a purchase agreement with Midland to buy the main building on East Lincoln Way. The purchase price is $600,000 for the 11-acres of land to be used as a new law enforcement center. The closing date is anticipated to be July 15th.
