As Iowa farmers continue to hit the fields planting crops, precipitation over this past week helped with crop growth.

According to the latest Iowa Crop Progress and Condition Report, the rain that fell in the past week was beneficial for the growing season, along with cloudy conditions that allowed for moisture to stay in the soil.

Corn planting is complete and corn emergence is ahead of the five year average at 87-percent and soybeans are ahead of schedule in terms of planting and twelve days ahead of the five year emergence average at 72-percent.

According to the report, 100-percent of corn has been planted and 93-percent of soybeans has been planted.
