With the Fourth of July coming up quickly on the calendar, there will be plenty of things to do in Perry this year.
Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says one thing people should take note of is an altered schedule for the parade this year. She explains that line up will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the East Perry Plaza and then the parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will run the same route on Willis Avenue to Pattee Park where there will be vendors.
“We are taking vendor applications now, and then we will have live music by Stranger Than Fiction in the evening, that’ll start at 6 (p.m.) , go til 9:30 (p.m.) and then we will have our fireworks right at dusk. So, those are kind of the highlights of the Fourth of July from the Chamber’s perspective and then as we hear more from other groups we will help promote that as well.”
Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio people can go to the City of Perry’s website to find information such as the vendor and parade applications, rules and routes among other things. Pasutti says people can also look to social media to keep up with Fourth of July activities.
“We will continue to update our web page for the Fourth of July so especially if it’s more of an official activity instead of a private activity we’ll include that with our list and then we will have a Facebook event page as well.”
The Fourth of July Celebration in Perry is less than a month away.
