The Xenia Rural Water District has announced the implementation of its water shortage plan.
The water shortage plan is now in effect due to low river levels and the continued drought as well as record-breaking customer demand for water. Customers are asked to reduce their lawn watering usage by 25-percent and follow the irrigation schedule.
Also, this includes relying on rain when possible to water lawns and outdoor vegetation, not irrigating during the hottest part of the day between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., and having even numbered addresses water on Sunday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s and odd number addresses watering on Tuesday’s, Thursday’s and Saturday’s.
The irrigation schedule found on its website here. For more information on what customers should do to conserve water you can go here.
