An old rivalry was renewed on Wednesday night at Allensworth Field in Jefferson when Greene County hosted Denison-Schleswig in non-conference baseball. The game was heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Jefferson and Denison were members of the now defunct Midwest Conference for nearly 50 years before the league disbanded in 1990. It’s now Denison-Schleswig from the Hawkeye 10 Conference and Greene County from the Heart of Iowa.

The Monarchs entered the game at 16-8 while the Rams were 7-14.
